Finland is situated in the northern part of Europe and is considered to be the sixth largest of all European countries. Finland boarders on Sweden (on the west), Norway (on the north), Estonia (on the south) and Russia (on the east), the capital of the country is Helsinki. Western and Southern Finland is represented by the seashore of the Baltic Sea, the country has many islands, a great part of them form the Aland Archipelago.
As for the terrain of Finland, the forests make up nearly 70 percent of country’s total territory. The most widespread is pine forest. The part, which is left, is covered with lakes and rivers; the largest lake is Saimaa, while the largest river is Kemijoki. The weather in Finland can not be called very changeable; it really depends on a season. The summers are usually hot, they last from May to early September, the winters, as a rule, are snowy, for example in Lapland the snow usually melts away in early May.
